David grew up in New Jersey and later moved to Pennsylvania to receive his Bachelor degree from The Pennsylvania State University.  He then went on to complete his doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University.  David completed his training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, receiving his Masters in Dental Science from the University of Tennessee. 

While completing his residency training, Dr. Handsman contributed to research developments in Microbiology and Immunology.  He is currently involved in numerous dental organizations and study clubs including:

	American Dental Association American Academy of Periodontology Massachusetts Periodontal Society Massachusetts Dental Association Worcester District Dental Society Central Massachusetts Dental Implant Study Group

David is actively involved in continuing education courses with the most up to date periodontal and dental implant techniques.  He continues to lecture to various dentists and dental personal on an array of periodontal treatment therapies.

While a native of New Jersey, David decided to move and practice periodontics in the Central New England area.  He frequently takes advantage of the beautiful terrain, hiking and biking local trails.  During the winter months you might catch Dr. Handsman skiing Mt. Wachusett or cross country skiing local trails.
